Even with treatment, bronchial cancer can continue to return. To ensure the cancer does not return, a doctor will typically advise a patient to have frequent check-up appointments especially within the first 2-5 years. Afterwards, the bronchial tubes can be closely observed. If a person with the condition does not change habits and keeps smoking or exposing themself to other people's smoke, cancer can/is especially likely to return. When bronchi tumors grow back it can be more difficult to cure.
