Most infections with yersinia are uncomplicated and cured completely. Rarely, some people develop joint pain, usually within 1 month after the first episode of diarrhea and usually cured after 1-6 months. A skin rash, called 'erythema nodosum' may also appear on women's legs and trunk. This resolves spontaneously within a month.
