Q fever is a disease caused by bacteria that live in animals, eg cattle, sheep, goats, birds and cats:Coxiella burnetii. Some wild animals and ticks are also carriers. You get Q fever from unpasteurized milk or dust or droplets in the air contaminated with animal feces, blood or birth products.
