Viral warts, sometimes called verrucas, are mostly harmless growths on the skin or mucous membranes which you can get through infection with human papilloma virus(HPV) and cause cosmetic problems as well as pain and discomfort. They are seen on people of all ages but most commonly appear in children and teenagers. Certain types are also associated with immune systems weakened by other conditions(eg HIV/AIDS).
