Surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy are the main treatment options and may be used alone or in combination, depending on the type of tumor. Surgery is likely to be your first treatment. You will usually be asleep during the procedure. Your surgeon will cut your scalp and skull over the tumour to remove as much of the tumor as possible and replace the piece of skull and scalp. It may not be possible to remove the whole tumor. Your surgeon will talk to you about potential risks before the operation. Surgery may be followed by radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy to try and control the remaining tumor.
