No filariasis vaccine exists. Prevention programs give communities drugs and try to control mosquitoes. Also, avoid being bitten by mosquitoes: if possible, stay indoors between dusk and dark, the period when mosquitoes are most active. When outside, wear clothes that cover you and use insect repellent on exposed skin.
