Common symptoms of vaginitis are:unusual vaginal discharge, itching and irritation in the vagina, pain during intercourse, an unpleasant odor from the vagina and lower abdominal pain. Some symptoms depend on the type of vaginitis. Bacterial vaginosis has a fish-like smelling discharge, yeast infections present thick white discharge like spoilt milk and trichomoniasis may cause a greenish yellow discharge. With any of these symptoms, seek diagnosis and treatment at the nearest health unit.
