Aromatherapy is the use of concentrated 'essential' oils. Essential oils are taken from flowers, leaves, bark or roots, mixed with another substance (e. g oil, alcohol, or lotion) and then sprayed in the air, inhaled or massaged into the skin. The oils interact with the body's hormones and enzymes to cause changes in blood pressure, pulse and other body functions. Aromatherapy is no replacement for traditional medical care.
