The main way to prevent red eye disease is by practicing good personal hygiene. Do not share anything that has touched the eye of someone with this contagious disease. Avoid shaking hands with an infected person, as this can transmit the disease. If you do come into contact with the disease, wash your hands with soap and water IMMEDIATELY to prevent infection.
