To make a diagnosis of yaws, the doctor will take a history and do a full exam and spot the characteristic clinical features. S/he may request some laboratory blood tests. Yaws is treatable with complete cure if detected early. Your doctor will prescribe some antibiotic medicines which, when taken as your doctor advises, will cure the disease. A single shot of penicillin cures early disease completely.
