Homophobia refers to the unreasonable/irrational fear of persons who practice homosexuality. It leads to dislike and discrimination against homosexuals. Homophobia can lead to homophobic behaviour, discrimination and injuries done to lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender persons. Homophobia manifests itself in different forms, eg homophobic jokes, physical attacks, discrimination in the workplace, to serious crimes like assault and murder.
