If the fallopian tubes are blocked, there is no way the egg, after fertilisation, will find way to the uterus for implantation and so conception will not happen. This could be due to pelvic inflammatory disease or other conditions, eg endometriosis, where the tubes are irritated and get blocked with fibrous tissue.
