Treatment of varicose veins is through use of pressure stockings. If pressure stockings don't work, the doctor may use sclerotherapy; in this procedure, the varicose veins are injected with a solution that scars and closes the veins. This treatment does not need anaesthesia and can be done in your doctor's office.
