Zinc is a mineral important to the body in many ways. Zinc keeps the immune system strong, helps heal wounds, supports normal growth and the break-down of carbohydrates. Zinc is also needed for the senses of smell and taste. Good food sources of zinc are:red meat, poultry, whole grains, beans and nuts.
