Diarrhoea is the passage of loose stool that is abnormal. It is described as being acute if it is less than 2 weeks in duration. If it lasts more than 2 weeks it is referred to as chronic. There are different medical conditions that may present diarrhoea as a symptom such as Amoebiasis, Typhoid, Shigellosis, cholera, HIV, food poisoning etc.
