Acute laryngitis rarely lasts more than a few days and usually requires little follow up. However, if the cause is acid reflux, you may be reviewed to identify the cause of the condition and given further treatment. If your condition lasts for more than 3wks then you have chronic laryngitis and may require specialist treatment.
