For diagnosis, the appearance of the lesion is the biggest clue to what skin condition you have. Throat swabs to rule out beta haemolytic strep may be performed. Stool examinations, blood cultures and chest radiographs are used to rule out other cases. A small sample of your skin may be taken for testing.
