Drug and heavy metal induced nephropathy refers to damage to the kidney due to heavy metal poisoning or drugs. The most common metals involved are cadmium, lead and mercury. Certain drugs, eg antibiotics like penicillins or painkillers(Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) do cause this condition. Your doctor will advise you of what might have caused it.
