Asthma occurs to people who have a genetic susceptibility-if a close relative has asthma it may be passed down. They over-respond to a variety of environmental stimulants called allergens. Some include:pollens, dust, mites, cow milk, peanuts, soy, latex, bronchitis, aspirin, smoke, deodorants, exercise, emotions and pregnancy.
