The tests for rheumatic aortic valve disease include an ultrasound examination of the heart (echocardiogram), electrocardiogram, a doppler ultrasound and aortic angiography (a radio-graphic view of the aorta using a dye). A chest X-ray and blood tests may also be carried out to detect if there are any complications related to the disease.
