To diagnose asthma, your doctor will ask you some questions and examine your chest especially. Your doctor may want to run some tests, eg arterial blood gas and eosinophil count. A chest x-ray may be necessary to check for complications. Lung function tests and a test called spirometry will be used to confirm that you indeed have asthma and nothing else.
