If the heart is not beating well because of a heart attack, you may need surgery to bypass clogged vessels in your heart muscle. You may also need surgery to repair muscles of the heart that have been damaged during the cardiogenic shock by lack of oxygen. If the heart is damaged beyond repair you may need a heart transplant.
