The main complication of hay fever is a secondary bacterial infection, e. g. infection of the ears or sinuses. Nose bleeding occasionally occurs. Your lungs may also be adversely affected due to the reduced entry of air. Younger individuals may have facial changes leaving them looking dull and lymph tissue in the nasal airways may grow too much further affecting the lungs.
