When conception(fertilisation and implantation) occurs, it is normal that a fetus develops. Sometimes the tissue forming the fetus forms instead a growth called a mole that grows in the uterus. This growth is abnormal and it is not an embryo. It presents with sypmtoms of pregnancy.
