Reflux uropathy doesn't need heavy drug treatment or operations except when there is severe reflux with dilatation of the renal (kidney) pelvis visible on ultrasound or other imaging technique; when there is repeating urinary tract infections despite continued night-time antibiotics and if you can't take the antibiotics for any reason (incl refusal to take them).
