Flu is highly contagious and is usually spread by the coughs and sneezes of an infected person. You can also catch flu from an infected person if you touch them(eg shaking hands).Sometimes flu can be passed from animals to man, eg when you have contact with droppings from an infected bird or the nasal secretions of infected animals.
