Induction is when you are helped to go into labour. Around 1 in 5 women will have their labour induced. There are a number of reasons why this may be suggested, eg when there is a problem with you or your baby and you need to have your baby early, your pregnancy is overdue(more than 41wks), or your waters have broken but labour hasn't started.
