Early signs of Parkinson's disease may be subtle and can be unrecognized. Symptoms typically begin on one side of the body and usually remain worse on that side even after they begin to affect both sides. They may include a hand tremor, slowed motion, muscle rigidity, impaired posture and balance, loss of automatic movements, e. g blinking, smiling or swinging hands while walking. You will also develop speech changes, e. g speak softly, rapidly or in a monotone. You may also develop dementia.
