To diagnose a lung abscess, your doctor will take a medical history comprising the symptoms and risk factors. He will then do a physical examination that may find fingers which are clubbed, fever, anaemia and abnormal lung sounds. Specialized tests will later be taken for confirmation of diagnosis.
