If you are a man and HIV positive, you are at risk of HIV-related anal cancer especially if you have had previous infections of the human papillomavirus(HPV) or homosexual sexual practices. HIV-infected homosexual men have a 1000-fold increased risk of developing anal cancer compared with HIV-uninfected.
