When you eat meat from an infected animal, Trichinella cysts break open in the intestines and grow into adult roundworms. They produce other worms that move through your intestinal wall and into your blood. They like to invade muscle tissues, incl the heart and the breathing muscle under the lungs(diaphragm ).They can also affect your lungs and brain.
