Kaposi sarcoma without HIV is often a slowly growing cancer and patients are expected to die with, rather than of Kaposi sarcoma. It is commoner in men and some races. But if you have HIV resulting in Kaposi sarcoma it tends to take an aggressive course especially among men who are homosexual. It is also less common in all groups since the introduction of potent HIV drug combinations.
