Obesity, constipation, diarrhea, forced defecating, pregnancy, hypertension and poor diet can cause haemorrhoids. Anyone whose anus is penetrated by a penis in anal sex is at risk of haemorrhoids (and HIV). Drink water, eat fruits and vegetables, exercise and lose excess weight and reduce straining while defecating to prevent haemorrhoids. Very large haemorrhoids may need surgery. Rectal bleeding can also be a sign of colon, rectal, or anal cancer. Visit the nearest health unit for proper diagnosis and treatment.
