Irregular periods are periods which do not happen at the same time each month or vary in how much blood they cause. Irregular periods can occur in early puberty when a woman begins having periods and later in life when approaching menopause. This is normal and often periods get more regular over time. Irregular periods can also be caused by stress, sorrow, travel and other lifestyle changes. Missing a period may mean you are pregnant-take a test if this could be the case.
