Normally someone with HIV only needs to start taking ARVs when their CD4 count is less than 350 and they have a high HIV viral load. However pregnant women with HIV must start taking ARVs straight away to prevent the baby from catching HIV/AIDS. If you have HIV/AIDS and become pregnant go to a clinic to start PMTCT, which can prevent your child from getting infected.
