Diphtheria is prevented through normal childhood immunisations with the diphtheria vaccine(DPT).Children should have the vaccine at 6 weeks, 10 weeks and 14 weeks. Adults can also be immunised. You should take your child for routine immunisation following the immunisation schedule. Vaccines are FREE at government health units.
