Candida/thrush is a common yeast infection of the skin. It often affects the vagina and mouth but can appear in other places. You can get candida through unprotected sex, certain antibiotics, stress, poor hygiene or washing the vagina with strong soaps. Candida cannot stop you from getting pregnant. It is common during pregnancy but it will not hurt the baby. If left untreated, candida becomes very painful. Seek proper diagnosis and treatment from the nearest health unit if you think you have candida.
