The time women get their periods back after birth varies. Periods can come back within 4 to 8 weeks after delivery if a woman does not breastfeed her baby. Women who breastfeed exclusively and continue to breastfeed on demand for 2 years will probably have a delay in getting their periods back, but can still get pregnant. There is a special family planning pill for breastfeeding mothers. Speak to a health worker about family planning after birth.
