Syphilis is a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). You get it by having sex without a condom with an infected person. Syphilis increases the risk of catching HIV. You can have syphilis without your body showing signs. It can kill and cause infertility. So if you had unprotected sex get tested at a clinic IMMEDIATELY to be sure. ALL sex partners must be treated or you will get infected again. ALWAYS use condoms to reduce the risk of syphilis, HIV and other STIs.
