Disorders of the hypothalamus
The hypothalamus is a gland found in the centre of the brain and is responsible for reproduction. It produces a hormone that signals other hormones involved in reproduction to get to work. If the hypothalamus malfunctions and fails to produce the signal hormone, amenorrhoea results.
