Diarrhoea in children - Prevention - Food hygiene

High standards of personal hygiene reduce the risk of contamination and help to prevent food poisoning. More specifically, washing your hands properly with soap and water is an important way to prevent the spread of germs. Clean your hands before and after preparing food, between handling raw and cooked foods and before feeding your child. Clean your child's hands with soap and water before eating. Store raw food and cooked food separately. It is recommendable to boil drinking water for at least one minute to make it safe for drinking. After boiling the water, store it in a clean container to cool before drinking.
