Complementary feeding - Progress

The best way to check growth is to have your health care provider map your child's weight on a growth chart. A growth chart can help both you and your health care provider track your child as they grow. Take your child to the health facility regularly for weight, height/length and head circumference measurements, preferably every month in the first year. The health care provider will compare the direction of your child's line on the chart with the direction of the reference line and give you appropriate advice. If your child is growing at a healthy rate, is eating well, is active, happy and playful, is not sick often and recovers quickly from common childhood illnesses, then they are likely to be healthy and well nourished.
