Fever - Causes

The most common cause of fever in children is infection. Infection could be due to common viral and bacterial illnesses like colds, gastroenteritis, ear infections, croup, bronchiolitis and urinary tract infections. Overdressing and wrapping a child in too many clothing or blankets can cause a slight raise in a child's temperature. Some childhood immunizations cause fever as a side effect.
