Fever control - Clothing

You can make your child more comfortable by reducing the amount of clothing they are wearing and reducing bedding. Sheets and blankets may be cooler than a duvet so are safer for children under one year old. Children below one year lose excess heat from their heads and it is important to keep their heads uncovered when they have a fever. If your child shivers while their temperature is rising, it's okay to cover them with a duvet or a blanket but as soon as they start sweating, they will need to cool down.
