Malaria in children - Diagnosis
When you see a doctor with symptoms similar to those of malaria, the doctor may recommend a blood test which will help diagnose malaria. It is recommended that a test to confirm malaria is carried out before treatment is commenced. The results are usually available within 15 minutes. If the blood test is not available, the doctor may diagnose malaria based only on the symptoms you have.
