Malaria in children - Risk
Those not sleeping under mosquito nets are at a higher risk of being infected with malaria. Also at risk are pregnant mothers, children below the age of five years and elderly people. People with HIV and AIDS are also at risk due to their reduced immunity. Travellers from non-endemic areas are at risk because they lack immunity.
