Hypertension in pregnancy - Prevention

Even though hypertension is a common pregnancy complication, its prevention is not completely determined. Some women who develop severe hypertensive disease may benefit from using low doses of aspirin in a subsequent pregnancy from the third month. Other strategies like calcium supplementation have been tried, but do not have a big impact on blood pressure complications. They are therefore not routinely recommended. Always talk to you health care provider for more details on how to keep the condition under control.
