Complementary feeding - Poor appetite

If your baby is healthy, appetite is a good guide as to how much you should give them. Only give as much as your healthy baby is willing to take with active encouragement. If your baby is not feeding well, it could be a sign that something is wrong. Poor appetite could be due to ill health, a stressful situation, or a repetitive diet. Some children try to seek extra attention by refusing to feed. Toddlers are generally fussy and may refuse to feed during times when they are fussy. If the appetite remains poor for some time, the child may become malnourished. Your health care provider can assess your baby's nutritional status and advice you accordingly.
