Neonatal sepsis - Classification
Neonatal sepsis can be classified into two categories; early onset and late onset neonatal sepsis. It's early neonatal sepsis if the infection occurs within 72 hours after the birth and late if the onset of symptoms is later than 72 hrs of life.
