Hypertension in pregnancy - Risk

Every pregnant woman is at risk of developing hypertension. However, certain situations increase this risk, for example; first pregnancy later than 35 years, inter-pregnancy interval of more than 10 years, family history of hypertension and hypertension in a previous pregnancy. Certain medical conditions like diabetes and kidney disease increase the risk as well.
